Mason is a great player....but he is a one year band-aid at best. He is pretty old and stated he would retire soon.
Antonio Bryant....no thanks.
Looking like another bad year at WR if Denver makes the trade of Marshall to Seattle. That means Dez Bryant goes to Denver....and they still have another first round pick. Miami better be burning the midnight oil to evaluate the rest of the WR draft class, in hopes of finding a starter in the bunch. That sure would have been easier last year, but we really needed Pat White

.
Based on the combine results, I think Miami's best bet for a big WR in the draft....after Bryant is gone.....is TE Dorin Dickerson. He has good size, speed and athleticism...but he is a project after playing 3 positions in Pitt. Still....he is the kind of target we should be looking for. I was interested in Briscoe and Gilyard before the combine. Gilyard did well, but Briscoe did not....and Gilyard is not the big target we want.
Sadly, I think we are going to be better off drafting for a distant future and not to win now. This draft is deep at running back, on both lines and at linebacker. We need a nose tackle, multiple linemen and I think it might be very smart to grab a running back this year. Maybe our first round pick gets used there? Some very good backs will be on the board when we select. Ronnie is often injured, Ricky is going to retire soon.....Hilliard looks solid, Cobbs is a good change of pace guy.....this might be the right move to make with the talent level amongst this year's running back crop.
