This regime will admit and try to erase mistakes, at least in terms of free agency. It did so with Ernest Wilford. It did so with Wilson. That is a plus, and a difference from predecessors. Now, if some of their draft picks don’t develop (Pat White for one), we’ll see if they do the same.

Shawn Murphy. They were high on him when they drafted him. Even traded up to do it. Cut before Yr. 2. They will cut their draft picks.

That follows a good principle that most successful people in life follow; focus on what you have or do that is good and get rid of what isn't. If you have a player that isn't performing, eliminate the emotional feeling you have over them based off of where they were drafted or if you got them as a promising free agent, and cut the guy if that is needed. Focus your energies on your solutions. Porter was a drain to this team emotionally this offseason; they answered by eliminating him and not being sucked into the drama and divisiveness of that a player like that brings to your team.
