Cj Spiller, Jerry Hughes, Jacoby Ford

Explosion on offense, pass rush on defense with the first 3 picks. That'd be nice.

I am a major supporter of getting Jacoby Ford. The only thing that concerns me is that we already have Ted Ginn. I just don't see Ford drastically improving over Ginn right away. If we could get Jacoby in the later rounds, say 3rd or 4th then I would definately trade Ted Ginn.

If you'd rather Dexter McCluster than Spiller, you're nuts.

When you're talking about a 2nd round pick instead of the 12th pick of the draft, and considering who we already have on the roster and how each player would fit in....

Than yeah I guess I'm crazy.

Ford and McCluster are like the same player...why draft them both? If you don't want a RB then why take McCluster?

Makes no sense.

McCluster would be that 3rd down, Kevin Faulk or Darren Sproles type of specialist, (at least what Sproles used to be). He'd provide an extremely dangerous, and uncoverable body out of the backfield on 3rd down, and would be a chain moving machine.

JP, don't we have Patrick Cobbs in that role right now?

He also provides good return ability, and the ability to split out wide as he used to be a WR. To me, for a 2nd round pick, that is much more worth than what Spiller would get you for 12 overall.

Spiller can do that, then some....
McCluster is not Sproles.
Sproles is built in the legs, and low to the ground, like a wrestler. McCluster is just a fast small guy. Yeah, he can create matchup problems, but he's not the Westbrook/Sproles/Faulk that you foresee. McCluster is Daunte Hall.

Spiller is a beast.

Eh...He's a good player, and has a lot of versatility. But he doesn't provide the quickness and burst of speed that is killer on 3rd down, that a guy like McCluster would.

Neither does Kevin Faulk...yet he's open every third down.

I'm not disputing that McCluster is a better overall player than Spiller. He's not. However, you also have to consider who we already have on the roster.

To me, there isn't much more that Spiller can do that McCluster cannot, that we are currently lacking on offense. (Don't know if that made any sense). So with that said, considering you're talking about the 12 vs. 43 pick, give me McCluster.

BTW, I can agree that Sproles is more of a bowling ball than McCluster, who is more of a pure quickness and elusiveness guy. But in the role that I'm proposing, it's not like you need much power, and it's not like Sproles needed a lot of power back when he was a 3rd down specialist.

But if you can get Spiller at 12, who you admit is better than McCluster, and still get an OLB in the 2nd, then why not do it?

The difference, to me, between the OLB's at 12 and the OLB's in the second is much greater than the difference between Spiller and McCluster, again, considering who we have on the roster and what their roles would be.

To me, there really isn't a gap at all between the OLB's in round 2, and the ones you can grab in round 3 or 4. Jerry Hughes is the only guy I really like in the 2nd round group, but he will probably end up going in late round 1.

I'll bet Miami can get Hughes in the 2nd. I think Spiller/Hughes is better than Graham/McCluster.

But if you don't get Hughes in the 2nd...like you said, there are plenty in 3 or 4. I don't think you can draft at number 12 based on what you think may or may not be there at 43.

Don't forget that Hughes instead of Graham also means Cam Wake as the strong side guy, where as if you get Graham, Wake is now on the weak side and allowed to be more of that pure pass rusher, rather than the elephant OLB.

Why?

But it's pretty much the concensus.

Show me everyone that agrees with what you just said.

Pointless? I'm asking you backup your bold comment that it is consensus as to who plays where, and why.

Jacoby Ford could develop into a faster version of Wes Welker. That guy has a lot of upside.

Would love both guys. Ford is a beast and i think he is a better WR than Ginn...He is faster and not scared of contact. if he catches at least 2 passes a game, that means he is better than Ginn which cant open his eyes when the ball gets to him. Major Wright has alot of upside and the kid can run. He has great ball skills but im not sure how his tackling was, didnt watch to many gator games due to my hatred of every FLA team except the U.
