Coincidence or not, Patriots coach Bill Belichick has signed safety Don Jones, one day after the Dolphins cut him and six days before the teams meet in Miami. It isn't the first time in recent years that Belichick has signed a just-released Dolphins player just before the teams meet.

I originally thought the NFL's treatment of cheater-gate was light. He is probably waterboarding Don Jones as we speak.

I think it would be cool for the NFL to police the teams for gamesmanship...might be impossible to do.

What gameplan? Was Don Jones in the meeting this week where Lazor was drawing it up?

Speaking of just beating someone, AGAIN we've had tape on these guys for how many years and we can't beat them? C'mon guys. Grow was testicles when it comes to this stuff. It's called due diligence and the Dolphins should learn how to utilize it.

Nothing wrong with it. Other teams do it also.

I think Belichick has plenty of tape on our defense, but the info he gets could give him a little heads up what we are thinking of doing. If he knows Croyle, though, all he has to do is watch last year's tapes.

Maybe he would have been better to add someone from our offense that we cut.

This is the real point, he's not going to get anything out of Jones that he doesn't already know, there are no specific defensive plays as there are on offense. Defense is reaction based, Belechick probably knows better than Jones what Coyle's D will do based on the offense.

Offense has specific plays. so you can learn some stuff from a guy you pick up, but not much from 1 preseason with a new offense, all anyone knows of this offense right now are the basics.

This Jones signing is being blown WAY out of proportion, he doesn't play offense and either way it is perfectly legal, you still must execute plays for them to work.

i would think it's more special teams information that jones could privide..new kick returners and such

anyway wasn't it t-hill that said they were already working on some patriot stuff before the last pre season game..so i wouldn't be so sure no information was released to some guys...maybe not jones but they did work on some stuff.

The most I think they are going to get out of these guys are focus points. Thigpen might say it was easier to run behind Player X, and Player Z had hard time covering people in the slot. Might give Bellichick some ideas for mismatches and which weak links to target.

I'm not sure Jones is going to give them much. They've already seen most of the offense's capabilities from last year.

Am I to believe that Belichek just thinks our team is so talented and that he just has to have any crumbs that fall from our table? C'mon man!!

I just wish our own brass would be so smart as to kick tires on players within our division more often.

Whether he uses them or not, who cares!! It's not rocket science to figure out that our LBs can't cover. It's easy to figure out where we are going to run. It's wasy to figure out to double team Wake or blitz up the middle. Make RT throw into coverage. Teams have i-pads now, film, nothing is a secret, it's about execution. We as fans know what to expect out the pats. Dink and dunk, short slants, and dumps to the RBs. GIve me a break guys, Thigpen, Jones, have nothing to say that the Pats don't already know. As far as a gameplan goes, they know nothing.

Here's an entire article about it. Belichek is nervous, he doesn't know what to expect from us this time. He's such a weasel.

And on the other end, I doubt he's scared. He's a POS that is "trying" to get an advantage. Our coaches should use that as motivation to go out there and stomp them into the ground.

Seriously, Football wise, would you want probably your best receiver returning punts? To me he picked up this player for more than "intel".

I remember when Nick Satan did this to BB...stole their game signals. Miami 21, NE 0 .... cheating works if you get away with it. If it is legal, then teams should do it and not whine about other teams that do.

The guy is bright and very smart, he benched Drew Bledsoe for Tom Brady.

That would never have happened here in Miami.

Miami will force feed us Ryan Tannehill, though he was not quite ready the last 2 seasons.

Belichick understands that it all starts within our division and he knows how to cheat and get extra information from ex-Dolphin players.
