He also showed some flashes as a pass rusher....then the drama started. If there was ever a comeback story that the Dolphins needed to come true, this is the one.

I'd line him up at OLB. That's his natural position.

It's hard to get excited for Dion Jordan as he has been such a disappointment with the drug suspensions, but that is what the offseason is for. I'm going to get excited for 2016.

I do not think he ever did Dave, at least from all I read about him.. He was a TE/DE in highschool, however was more of a TE.. He spend his first 2 years in college as a TE, and then converted to DE...

Chip Kelly used him in various packages, and he surely could have lined up as an OLB.. But he was still a DE, just being moved around by a coaching staff who knows how to utilize a players strengths..

Dion Jordan played 3-4 OLB at Oregon.

First and foremost, Dion has to have his life in order. IF this has happened, I would more than welcome him back. He has physical tools, no question about that.

IF he is reinstated and back with Miami, it up to Vance Joseph and the rest of the defensive staff to figure out the best way Dion can be utilized. The last staff FAILED miserably at using Jordan and getting the most out of him.

He's way too long to be an outside linebacker in a 43 alignment.

He is a hybrid player and should be used that way...
I dont care if people want to call him a punter. Just get him on the field when and where they can..
Wake, Williams at DE, Jordan at OLB.. Whos dropping and who is rushing will be the QB's problem...

Then on offense, throw him in the goal line package at TE..

Ted Hendricks was 6'7 and played SLB in a 4-3 for part of his career and did very well.

If you are using the OLB to match up with TEs and to blitz. Why not?

Dion is more than athletic enough to handle what Rich is talking about. This is the same dude that ran with Gronk on the play Dave showed and covered Calvin Johnson in one play in the game in Detroit a few years ago.

He has the versatility and athletic ability to be used in many ways.

They actually were, the video above shows him playing next to the DE at OLB covering a TE and then the next one he is rushing the passer from the DE spot...

His length has nothing to do with it when he is an athletic freak like he is. He can run and cover.. with his athleticism... his length could actually be an asset. I do believe for our defense and for the pieces we have.. Putting him at OLB is the best option. Of course they should also blitz him whenever possible. He just simply isn't built to set an edge at DE and his only pass rushing moves are speed and speed.

Except they didn't use him enough,...,What did he get 4-5 snaps a game.

They definitely were not using him enough. He only had 222 snaps for the 2014 season.

Is that counting special teams? That would just make it even sadder.

I'm pulling for him of course, but he's totally off my radar. I've given up on him.I expect nothing so I wont be disappointed if he screws up again.
