Those stats in comparison to the 2015 season:
64% = 14th 2015
4100 yrd = 12th 2015
30 TD = 12th NFL
12 INT = 12th NFL

So they are saying expect an above average but not elite performance from Ryan...

Kinda what i expect as well..

This is going to sound homerish.. But, I don't care. I think that the stars are theoretically aligned for him to step forward into being a top 10 guy. Offensive weapons galore. Offensive line help and depth. An offense designed to be dynamic and create mismatches.. and to give Tannehill more control. Adam Gase and his expertise with QB's. Ryan Tannehill's work ethic. A staff that is willing to have the QB's back and work with his skill set.

I am hoping for something a little more like:

65%
4400 yds passing
450 yds rushing
34 passing TD's
3 rushing TD's
10 INT's

He is elite. Now with the right cast everyone will realize it.

He is most definitely the elite QB in one stat... By a long margin as well...

I want to see him close out games. Putting up the big score to bury a team in the 4th, making 3rd down passes to extend drives and kill the clock and, most of all, I want to see a playoff appearance. Be the man that makes those big plays in clutch moments...

As I said last season, you could take Joe Flacco's name out of this article and replace it with Ryan Tannehill's, and it would mean exactly the same thing.

It would be great to see him put up those type of stats. His future in Miami will be determined this year.

This season will not decide his future here, the Dolphins would need to finish with a top 3 draft pick in order to even consider swithing QB's... There is no option in FA that will unseat Tannehill here.. The pool is shallow...

The stats listed by TBR are nothing unrealistic, they are really a extremely safe assumption.
2015 - expected 2016
61.9% - 64%
4208yd - 4100yd
24TD - 30 TD
12INT - 12 INT

And these stats are in direct line with the 2014 season as well..

Again.. I don't think my hopeful projection is out of line with a step forward.

Why do you say that?

Because his cap number goes from $11,640,000 for 2016 to $20,300,000 in 2017. This is the year the Dolphins will have to decide if Tannehill is the answer at QB. He is going to be a $19 million to $20 million per year QB in 2017 and going forward.

Except for the fact that the current level of play from him is market value for a guy putting up those numbers......Finster (lol),was running around here pushing his hatred towards Thill and using this as some kinda fact...It's not..He is not going anywhere unless he starts to decline fast... The Texans just signed a guy to that much!

And I don't see that happening.....What other options would you suggest after the big release?

Finster is a good guy too. It is too bad he is not on our forum anymore or at least I have not seen a post in awhile and after over 6,000 posts I miss Rock Sexton on here too. Both fellow Dolphin fans that enjoyed giving their opinions.

I am as big a Tannehill supporter as you will find. I am hoping an improved offensive line and Gase's offense lead him to a breakout year. If he doesn't then you have to seriously ask if this is his ceiling. After 5 seasons you should have a real good idea if Tannehill can lead a team to playoff victories and compete for a superbowl. I completely understand the "who you going to replace him with" question. But if he puts up another mediocre performance you have to consider the next option instead of staying with a guy who has reached his ceiling. You can only replace the head coach an OC so many times before you have to look at Tannehill.

You can win with a qb that puts up numbers the same as what Thill has done the past two years without improvement...

It's been done...

He could also have a slow start do to learning another new offense.. The overall numbers could reflect that even with improvement by the end of the year..

If you can not make the playoffs with this play from your QB you need to find a new occupation or go back to coaching positions like Sparano and Phailbin......

2015 stats
Attempts = 9th
Yards = 9th
Touchdowns = 15th
INT = 12th
Comp % = 21
Sacks = 3rd

add in team stats:
Rushing = 23rd
Rush TD = 16th

I would love to see how we are going to land a legit top 10 QB to unseat Ryan....
