So it appears, from what I understand, in true Dolphins / Ross fashion, we have counted our eggs before they hatched. Unless I've missed an official report saying he's a done deal.
Did Ross really screw the pooch on this one? Again? I was semi-joking about the whole flying a helicopter / private plane conversation thing, but now....
Ok so was this the devils advocate one or was this your own thoughts? How can I tell in the future?
Nope, that part had semi-snarky humor in it, but if you're looking for a reason to bust my balls on the forum, go for it, I don't care. You semm hell bent on it lately anyway.
Fact, it seemed "we" as a collective Dolphin fan basem, in fact, counted our eggs before they hatched on this one. So sure, I'll stand behind the next statement, did the front office somehow mess this up? I don't know, it's why I asked the question. The largest article I seen about it, in fact said, "Ross made Fangio the highest paid DC in the league." So forgive me if I put those two together and said "DId Ross screw the pooch?" Let's not sit here and pretend history doesn't repeat itself. Ross has a history of making us you know, losing 1st round picks for stupid crap he's done. The Harbaugh debacle? Ring a bell?

If this blows up in Ross’ face, like the past off season coaching debacles, it’s not a coincidence anymore.
And if this blows up, I’m not sure we’ll ever take that next level step while he’s the owner, Grier is around, etc.
It just seems like we’re always doing dumb stuff, or always involved in something just is jacked up. It can’t just be straight forward. But hopefully all of this is wrong and he gets hired.
Maybe this is also Devils advocate?
I mean, if you can't tell the difference then yes, that's my opinion, versus me saying in quotes talking wtih Rich and saying that narrative is coming, I don't know what to tell you buddy. So if it comes out that Ross in fact tried to pay Fangio as the highest paid DC in the league, and Fangio says "Nah, no thanks, going here instead."... that doesn't say something about our organization? The one Ross has been running for what, 15 years now? He bought it in 2008, right? And I'm not playing ride the fence here either. It's not secret I'm not the biggest Ross fan there ever was. He's done ignorant and stupid stuff as an owner. And if you want to press me on my last statement, then sure, I'll stand by it. As long as Ross is the owner here, I don't see us winning a Super Bowl. If I had to bet, I'd say that as long as Grier and Ross are a team and they are both still here, we won't win an AFC Title either. Happy now?
That being said, I'm not driving that narrative about Fangio yet, he may sign after the Super Bowl and this is all smoke and noise, as AFCE said, but I'll continue to talk about it in such a manner, until I am proven otherwise.
Facts: Beat writers in MIA jumped the gun, "every" Dolphisn fan site / page / Twitter / social media jumped the gun on this one. After a while, after contnued stupid stuff from your Owner / GM, you tend to get jaded. There will always be Ross / Grier apologist, but at some point we've got to take hard looks and say hmmpf... maybe we're screwed here. But as a lifelong Dolphins fan, maybe they'll prove me wrong. Let's both hol dour breathe and see what happens first.
