Biden tells us that inflation for July was at 0% when the Wall Street Journal reported that it was at 8.5%. Seriously?

It’s not a lie. Both numbers are true.

The 0% means that in the month of July, prices on average didn’t increase compared to June, hence the 0%. Think of it as saying that in the last month you didn’t gain any weight. It doesn’t mean that you weigh zero pounds.

The 8.5% number compares July 22 to July 21.

Most understand this but it’s the simple context he chose to present it in. He was clearly trying to avoid elaborating any further because the economy has dominoed into a pit since he took office….

SO, after an all time bad stretch of 12 consecutive months of economic destruction, I assume what Joe was attempting to say is that the economy simply remaining stagnant for 4 weeks is apparently a win for the Biden Admin. Zero.

Hurray. No lies detected, just a bunch of misdirection & bull****, but, no lies.

The intent is to mislead.

You can sit there and throw out a statistic that suits you but the fact of the matter is daily goods like food continued to increase significantly in price. What "balanced out" the percentage was gas prices decreasing, which is being caused mostly by people driving less because gas is too expensive.

This administrations knows (I say this administration because Biden himself doesn't know where or who he is anymore) that inflation continues and will continue. They probably also know that all these massive spending bills passed by both the Biden and Trump administrations to combat the COVID recession are primarily triggered this situation in combination with rising wages and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

It's too bad for the Democrats that this number didn't come out in like October. It may have saved their changes to keep control of the House. Instead, we will see inflation continue to rise next month while GDP continues to contract and companies continue laying off workers.
